Derived from the Nicolas Visscher map of 1658, with a similar combination of the Blaeu type Great Lakes region and a Briggs type island of California with a flat northern coast. The land of Anian is noted with a Straet of Anian running between it and the Anian regnum. A small piece of the coast of New Zealand is shown as Zelandia Nova. The Rio Grand is shown emanating from an unnamed lake and flowing incorrectly into the Gulf of California. Drape-style title cartouche held by a cherub. Without engraver's imprint.

References: McLaughlin #25, state 5.

Condition: B

Generally good with repairs to the lower margin and centerfold. One extraneous crease. Hinge remnants on verso.

Estimate: $350 - $450
