Nice example of this complete geography book filled with full-page maps of the states and other parts of the world. It is hardbound with pictorial paper covers and includes title page, preface, contents, text, engravings and maps, geographical tables, pronouncing vocabulary, questions for review and examination; 114 pp. All of the maps have very nice original hand coloring. The text contains wood engravings and smaller uncolored maps. The textbook is protected with a pictorial paper cover "Holden's Book Cover, Patent Applied For." We've never before seen this style of cover that has the book's title imprinted above an image of a Polynesian hut. Printing on its verso "School Books covered with Holden's Book Covers Free! If bought at J.Y. Marmon, Lima, Ohio, Dealer I School Books, Writing Paper, Pencils, Pens and Ink…" A very sound example of this desirable geography with a rare paper cover.
