This lot consists of the last two folio atlas volumes of three. Volume II contains 37 mostly historical maps beginning with four charts from 1798 by Vancouver and ending with the 1895 S.E. Alaska British Commission Map. Volume III has twenty-five sectional charts "showing the line fixed by the tribunal." Hardbound in calf and marbled paper. The Alaska boundary dispute of 1903 concerned the southernmost portion of Alaska and its border with Canada. Although seemingly insignificant today, it was a hotly debated issue in its time. These two volumes are a fascinating historical record of this dispute and a terrific set of maps.
