This is a scarce atlas issued to illustrate the islands gained by the United States during the Spanish American War. First title page in Spanish gives title as "Atlas de Filipinas Coleccion de 30 Mapas … 1899" with attribution to Jose Algue, Director del Observatorio de Manila. Second title page is GPO Special Publication No. 3 with title as given, followed by an introduction by Henry S. Pritchett, Superintendent. The thirty colorful, full-page maps are by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, each with the logo of the Islas Filipinas Observatorio de Manila. The maps are untitled, but are identified with both Spanish and English titles in the text. More than 20 pages of place names are keyed to the maps. Original cloth covered boards with gold embossed title on front cover. Complete with two title pages, Introduction, geographical description, text, 24pp, plus 30 maps.
