These exquisite pages are from a book of prayers based on Koranic scripture. Printed in Naskhi script, they are highlighted in gold, with additional red, blue and green decoration. The calligrapher was Abu Bakr Jami from Isfahan in the late 18th century. The paper is characteristic of that used for sacred texts. It was made by a separate guild and was sized with albumen and polished with an agate polisher.
