Seventeenth century bird's-eye plan of the city of Angers, situated on both banks of the river Maine. It shows the city walls, magnificent bridges, churches, cathedral, castles and surrounding farms and villages. Three coats of arms are arrayed across the top of the plan and a cartouche is tucked in the lower left corner. This plan is copied from Jansson's plan for his Townbook and may have been produced by Merian. Title is printed on verso.

The title on verso has bled through and there are damp stains at top. One side of verso has been reinforced with a sheet of period paper for no apparent structural reason. Remnants of framer's hinges on verso.
