An early publication by Francis McNally, later of Rand, McNally fame. Illustrated paper covers, two engraved frontispieces, engraved title, text and maps, 110pp. Contains 32 full-page maps fully hand colored. Plus two thematic world maps, total of 34 maps with 18 of U.S. interest. Numerous wood engraved vignettes within the Descriptive Geography text. From the National Geographical Series No. 5. A complete and desirable early work by McNally with great maps.

Condition: B

The maps are generally very good or good with these due to occasional scattered foxing. Covers rubbed and a little stained, spine with two pieces of leather missing and crack at edge. U.S. map with long tear partially closed on verso with archival tape.
