This is a very scarce regional map prepared for Peter the Great's survey and published by the Geographic Department of the Imperial Academy of Science. It shows the western Siberian region with the Tobolsk and Yenisei provinces. There are still unexplored areas on the Taimyr peninsula and the island Novaya Zemlya. The map provides great detail of the rivers and lakes, forests, mountains, moors and settlements. Adorned with a nice title cartouche.
