"[Lot of 8 - France]", Levasseur, Victor

Victor Levasseur's "Atlas National Illustre" and "Atlas Universel Illustre" are among the last decorative atlases published. The maps are all lavishly illustrated with scenes of the countryside, products and activities indigenous to the region.

Very nice set of maps from one of the last decorative atlases of the 19th century. Features "Dept. de Seine et Oise" with Paris at the center. The other departments are 2) "Dept. de la Sarth," centered on Le Mans; 3) "Dept. de la Hte. Vienne," centered on Limoges; 4) "Dept. des Vosges," centered on Epinal; 5) "Dept. de la Somme," centered on Amiens; 6) "Dept. du Puy de Dome," centered on Clermont; 7) "Dept. du Tarn," centered on Realmont and includes Alby; 8) "Dept. De Seine et Marne," includes Meaux, Medun, Coulommiers. All are approximately sized as given. Very nice set of eight matching maps of French Departments with uncolored surrounding vignettes, as issued.
