Well engraved map that features the Independent Republic of Texas. Texas has the long stovepipe border that extends north to the 42nd parallel. The southwest is here called "Upper New California." Good detail of the topography and watershed in the West. Alaska is Russian America, and Canada in its entirely is labeled British Territory. The map extends to include all of Central America and the Caribbean. Cross-section along the bottom shows elevation of major mountains and volcanoes. Nicely colored and published by Orr & Company.
