Ceylon, the 'Pearl of the Sea' is featured on this fine steel engraved chart that is surrounded by 5 intricate engraved vignettes in the traditional Tallis style. A beautiful map with extraordinary detail naming towns, lakes and rivers, all bordered by an exquisite designed border. Includes vignettes of the Lake of Kandy, Adam's Peak, Colombo, the ruins of a Dagoba at Toopharamaya, and the Temple of Buddha, Kalany. The vignettes and borders are uncolored, as issued.
