Superbly designed and very scarce set of three Florentine maps of the United States. They are a matched set and meant to be joined. The title cartouche is on the southeast sheet. The full set is comprised of four sheets, the southwest sheet is missing from this collection. Finely engraved with good details. Shows east and west Florida, an oversized Mississippi Territory that extends from Georgia to the Mississippi River. Indiana is shown below Lake Michigan and elongated to the southwest to the Mississippi River. Fine and early details in the Missouri River Valley, the Upper Plains, and to the Rocky Mountains. Many place names including Indian Tribes, lakes, rivers, mountains, settlements etc. Locates L. Timpanagos and L. Salso south of Timpanagos. The northeast and north central sheets are untitled.
