Attractive chart of Asia including the East Indies. It presents a fairly accurate and up-to-date outline of the continent. However, there is still some confusion in the region of Hokkaido and Sakhalin Island. The Bering Straits are identified as Detroit du Nord ou d'Anian. The Aleutian Islands are hinted at with an indistinct coastline east of Kamchatka noting that it was discovered by Chirikov & Delisle in 1741. The decorative cartouche features the wealth of the region including Persian rugs, textiles, jewels and an incense burner.
