Matched pair of the north and south sheets of Delisle's important map of the Russian Empire. The northern sheet is centered on Moscow and provides great detail of the towns, roads, forests and topography. The map is decorated with a nice title cartouche featuring a sleigh, coat of arms, animals and a hunter. The southern sheet features three distance scales and the same fine detail of the northern sheet. Size given is approximate for each sheet. Fine example of this map in original unjoined state.
