A very nice pair of wood engravings featuring the Statue of Liberty. The former is a double-page sheet from the November 6, 1886 issue of Harper's Weekly that was drawn by Charles Graham. The beautifully rendered night view shows the Statue of Liberty illuminated by fireworks and surrounded by many lighted ships indicating the level of celebration. The latter view (9 x 13.5") was drawn by John Durkin and published on January 19, 1884. It shows the statue during installation with the surrounding framework. Two insets detail the flame, another the foot, plus finely rendered circular portrait of Bartholdi.
