A nice pair of maps of Canada showing all the provinces and locating major rivers, lakes, and cities. Today's British Columbia and Yukon are here called New Georgia. Regions that make up today's Northwest Territory and Alberta are labeled Mackenzie River, Peace River, Athabasca, English River, Lesser Slave Lake, and Churchill. Extends to show most of Greenland and today's Alaska. The first map (15.5 x 11.8") is from the General Atlas and shows Alaska as Russian Possessions. The second map (16.2 x 12.2") has the "British, Russian & Danish Possessions of North America" removed from the title and features Colton's decorative strapwork style borders. Alaska, created in 1867, is so labeled and Helena is the capital of Montana. This map has many added towns, territories, topography, etc. An interesting pair of comparative maps that span thirteen years.
