Victor Levasseur's "Atlas National Illustre" and "Atlas Universel Illustre" are among the last decorative atlases published. The maps are all lavishly illustrated with scenes of the countryside, products and activities indigenous to the region.

Lovely set of French Department maps all with finely rendered steel engraved views illustrating the important areas, peoples and commerce in each region. Set includes: Dept. de l'Ain; Dept. de l'Allier; Dept. des Basses-Alpes; Dept. des Hautes Alpes; Dept. de l'Ariege; and Dept. des Ardennes. Size varies slightly.
