This is an interesting broadside with American Revolution vignettes surrounding the map. Legend on the map indicates through coloring the positions of American, French, and British troops. General Washington's command post is noted, as are the ships Guadeloupe and Charon, numerous sunken vessels, and Count de Grasse's fleet. Above the map is a hand colored view of the Surrender of Lord Cornwallis, at Yorktown, VA, Oct. 19, 1781 with a description below locating everyone illustrated. Other images around the map include portraits of Rochambeau, Choise, de Lauzun, Washington and la Fayette, and views of the Nelson Mansion, Moore's House, Rosewell, and Pocahontas saving the life of Smith. A rarely seen item that was likely issued as part of America's Centennial celebration.
