Large, double-page map of the state with very fine detail throughout. County development ends along the 100th meridian with the counties of Hardeman, Concho, Kimble, Dimmit, etc. Along the Rio Grande are the additional new counties of Kinney and Maverick. The Staked Plain is labeled Young County. Superb details include extensive trail and wagon road system, and a large number of towns and villages named. Railroad system is not yet well developed. Names the Laredo, Lower Presidio and Upper Presidio roads. Large insets of the panhandle and Galveston Bay. Surrounded in a lacy border; the final border in this fine series of maps by the Johnson family. Dated 1866, but likely published about 1870 based on county development and the border style.
