A handsome copper engraved map in full original color that contains impressive detail. Locates and names scores of towns and villages, roads and trails, etc. Names and delineates the regions of Algarve, Alemteio, Estremadura, Beira, Douro and Montes. James Wyld was successor to William Faden, one of the luminaries of late eighteenth century publishing in England. Wyld maintained the high standard of graphic and factual excellence that had been established by his predecessor and his maps are among the finest published in the early nineteenth century.

Good impression with good coloring and full margins. Some offsetting, mostly in blank areas. Short split on centerline fold, both sides and closed on verso.
