First is a small (4 x 5.6") map by Alain Manesson Mallet, from a German edition of Description de l' Univers . It shows the southern part of classical Italy and the coast of Illyria and Macedonia. Decorated with a drape-style title cartouche. Second (8.2 x 12.2") is from Rigobert Bonne's Atlas Encyclopédique, showing the Italian Peninsula with Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia.
