Nice map covering the United States to just past the Mississippi River. It provides a very early look at railroads throughout the United States showing railroads chartered, under construction, and completed. There is also good detail of mountains, cities and rivers. The original outline coloring was hastily applied. It is a great example of the practice among publishers during this time frame of employing children to do map coloring. Includes the atlas text page with information on the canals and railroads.
