Uncommon pair of maps making up a large-scale map of the continent. Each map consists of two joined folio sheets. They could be joined and would measure 30.5" x 33.5". The map provides an excellent view of the cartographic knowledge of the mid-nineteenth century with very fine detail of the regions that had been explored. The unexplored regions are completely blank except for a few tribal names. Several notations are included.
