A beautiful map of the continent after Sanson. The source of the Nile is shown on the Ptolemaic depiction originating from two lakes. A large lake incorrectly joins the Niger and Senegal Rivers. Two St. Helena islands appear - a common error in maps from this period. Scenic cartouche. Engraved by Giorgio Widman.

References: Phillips (A) #497.

Condition: A

Very good to fine despite trace of toning along centerfold and two pin sized wormholes.
