"Magellan's Voyage; A Narrative Account of the First Navigation", Pigafetta, Filippo

Translated by R.A. Skelton from one of the most important geographical manuscripts in history; now in the collection of Yale University. The report of the first circumnavigation was written by one of its few survivors. This beautiful set, in two volumes, will be a great addition to any library focusing on exploration. Volume I, 194 pp. contains the introduction, translation and index. Vol. 2 is a copy of the beautiful original manuscript in full color. Hardbound in cream cloth, embossed astrolabe on front covers and red/gilt lettering on the spines, housed in original red cloth slipcase with illustrated paper label. A very fine set.
