Great group of early views: The Presidio and Pueblo of Monterrey, Upper California, by Capt. William Symth, London, 1839, lithograph, (5 x 7.6"). Smyth was an officer on the British warship, H.M.S. Blossom when he visited the coast in 1826. Monterey in Californien (6.3 x 5") and Sacramento-City in Californien (6.2 x 5"), published in "The United States Illustrated: In Views of City and Country", Meyer, New York [1853-54], steel engravings. View of Benicia from the West, Charles Koppel, U.S.P.R.R. Surveys - California, ca. 1856, tinted lithograph, (9 x 6.7").

All very good except Benicia, which is unevenly toned, light spot on Sacramento. Library stamp on verso of Sacramento.
