Fine selection of wine region maps from one of the last decorative atlases of the 19th century. 1) Dept. de l' Aude is a lovely map from the Languedoc region of France, noted for its wonderful wines. 2) Dept. de la Cote d' Or is within the wine region of Burgundy and this map is decorated with people gathering grapes, casks of wine, as well as some of the other produce of the region. 3) Dept. de Lot et Garonne is located in the region of Aquitaine, which was the ancient province of Guyenne. This map features a lovely vignette of the local produce of fruit and wine, as well as other delicacies. 4) Dept. de la Lozere is located within the Languedoc region, and this map is surrounded by an elagant decoration of water nymphs, produce and landscape. 5) Dept. de l' Herault is also within Languedoc, and is this map is surrounded with engravings of olives, seafood and other produce. 6) Dept. de la Hte. Garonne is surrounded by lavish vignettes of the areas specialties. This department is within the Midi-Pyrenees, which was traditionally known as Languedoc and Guyenne-et-Gascogne. 7Departt. Du Gard is within the Languedoc region, and this map shows the produce of the region within its elaborate vignette. There are wines, seafood and textiles particularly noted. Size varies slightly.
