This is the third plate from Hogarth's satirical series, The Rake's Progress. This scenes shows Tom Rakewell amusing himself in a notorious brothel, the Rose Tavern in Covent Garden, after an evening of drinking and hooliganism. Dated 1735, published date unknown.

Trimmed margins (leaving approx. 3/8" around image). Two old paper repaired tears, one just entering image at right and the other into text at bottom.
