Terrific plan of the city of Batavia surrounded by views of the area and peoples. Includes a key to 55 important buildings and places and inset views showing the city, Rathaus and Castle. Embellished with other views depicting the people of Java and the Ambones, ships, animals and more. Much of the information is derived from Johann Nieuhoff's map and illustrations.
