Lovely copper engraved map of the kingdom and Portuguese Fort Jafnapatnam that was captured by the Dutch in 1658. Oriented with north at the bottom, the map is fully engraved to show the lush vegetation and villages. It is embellished with elephants, sea monsters, sailing ships and a compass rose. The large title cartouche features men and children and the distance scale is enclosed by a pair of dragons. This plan was included in Volume III to accompany "The True & Exact Description of the Most Celebrated East - India Coast of Malabar and Coromandel and the Island of Ceylon, with all adjacent Countries" by Philip Baldaeus.
