This unusual little chart compares the angle and degree of continental offset from north and south. This map was published in the Buffon's thirty-six volume Histoire Naturelle (1749-1789). Georges Louis LeClerc, the Comte de Buffon, was a French naturalist, and the author of one of the earliest accounts of the global history of biology and geology that was based on empirical evidence, per Sir Isaac Newton.
