The finest example of this atlas we've seen. The double hemisphere world map includes quaint little vignettes throughout, such as Indians and buffalo in North America, lions and elephants in Africa, a pagoda in China and a kangaroo in Australia. The U.S. map has Mexico in control of the Southwest and the Oregon Territory border extends well into British Columbia. An Independent Texas is featured on two maps including the double-page U.S. map. Maps are printed one side only and are hand-colored.
