This important map depicts the limits of the territory acquired in the treaty negotiated by James Gadsden in 1854. The explorations and survey were conducted under the direction of Andrew B. Gray. This large, historically significant, map is full of interesting detail including numerous gold and silver mines. Includes a large inset of the Port at San Diego, reference table, numerous notes and detailed profile plan of the map's extent.

Good impression on sound paper. Issued folding on two sheets joined, now backed with archival tissue. Light toning on some folds, else very good.
