This uncommon map covers the whole of the Russian Empire but emphasizes the Asian regions. Particular attention is focused on the recent discoveries in the Bering Sea (here labeled Sea of Kamtschatka). An island archipelago appears off Kamtschatka that is likely part of the Aleutian Islands, but they are placed too close to the Asian continent. The Sea of Japan is labeled Corea Gulf. Novaya Zemlya is shown as a single large island.
Condition Description: A clean and bright example, issued folding, with a few minute worm holes only visible when held to light. There is light soiling along the edges of the sheet.
