This is a very rare sea chart depicting the southern part of South America. The chart is crisply engraved with sparse details but clearly shows the straights of Magellan and Le Maire and the shipping passage around Cape Horn. Falkland Sound is shown but the islands are incomplete. Three large compass roses and rhumb lines orient the chart and are its only embellishment.
