Huge double hemisphere on a partial polar projection. The Northern Hemisphere is centered on Paris emphasizing the continents. The Southern Hemisphere is centered roughly on New Zealand. Hemispheres measure 24.5". Alaska is shown as an island. Tasmania is still attached to the mainland. The track of Cook's 1773 voyage is shown. Engraved by Guillaume Nicolas de la Haye. Printed on very sturdy paper, 2 sheets joined.
