This uncommon map of the environs of the Black Sea in classical times is filled with ancient place names and titled also in Greek. The cartography is based on Ortelius' map of the same title and it is similar in composition to Jan Jansson's map. It was engraved by A. Recurti, who was an engraver at the Seminario Vescovile (Episcopal Seminary) in Padua.
