This busy post-war Mississippi River scene shows a long line of steamboats tied up to the levee to receive goods and passengers. Among their destinations are St. Louis, Cairo and the Red River. The landing is crowded with cotton bales, black workers, merchants and travelers. Engraved by John Karst after Alfred R. Waud.
