This is a boldly engraved chart of the bay at Salvador (Bahia) with an inset plan of the fortified city of San Salvador. Navigational soundings, shoals are identified in the bay. Numerous plantations and sugar mills are noted with symbols along the coast and rivers. With a large decorative rococo-style title cartouche and two compass roses.

Fine color and very crisp impression. Small printers crease in inset, and browning at edge of paper at upper left. Issued folding, now pressed.
