A decorative map of the central and western coastal regions of Mexico, based on Ortelius. Mexico City is situated on a large lake below the elaborate title cartouche featuring the Royal Spanish Arms. Several silver mines are located in the central region, as Argenti minerae. A galleon and sea monster ornament the Pacific , while a cherub beckons to armadillos on the scale of miles cartouche. German text on verso.

Lovely impression on a strong sheet with wide original margins. There is a suggestion of toning and one tiny rust spot in the upper margin.
