This a complete and very nice example of this wonderful atlas that features tipped-in maps with fancy borders. Complete with 64 wax engraved maps; it includes 16 double-page maps. All states and territories are represented with 39 maps of U.S. interest. Other charts include Flags of the World, five thematic charts, types of the Races of Men, several pages of portraits, and more. Copyright of 1883, but dated 1885 on the cover. Title page, contents, list of the population of cities, index, 200 pp. Hardbound in original brown cloth, embossing and gilt titling on the cover. All of the maps are in fine condition.

Condition: A

The maps are all fine: clean and bright with no flaws. The covers are only good: both front and rear are starting with partial separation from book, with shelf wear, abrasion, sunning and corners bumped.
