This copper engraving shows the harbor at Rhodes, where the huge Colossus of the ancient world once stood. The map provides an excellent view of the fortifications built by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The map is oriented with north to the bottom of the map by a small compass rose, while a multitude of small ships sail the harbor.
