"Times Map of the City of Los Angeles",

This scarce advertsing map was published by the Los Angeles Times. It details the fast-growing city centered at the plaza near Chinatown with concentric half-mile circles giving a scale to the map. Note at top documents the annexation of the town of Garvanza. Some interesting landmarks include the Elysian Park and Chavez Ravine, sight of today's Dodger Stadium. Below the map is a large advertisment for Llewellyn Iron Works printed in red. A star on the map locates the company. With two engraved views within the map: Llewellyn Iron Works; and New Standard Concentrator. A curious advertser considering this is in a tourist guide. With an extensive street index on verso. The map is bound into the original book titled Wilson's Illustrated and Descriptive Souvenir and Guide to Los Angeles and Near-by Towns by Benj. Rotholtz. The guide features tips, and references for the visitor to Los Angeles as well as numerous photographs and period advertisements. Pictorial paper cover features Mexican cowboy and roses, all surrounded by decorative border. 12mo, 160pp.

Condition: A

Map has a few intersectional fold separations and is partially loose from the binding. The cover has a little toning or sunning and a couple creases. The spine has recently been reinforced with book binding tape.
