Beautifully and fully engraved sea chart filled with details and ornamented with ships, compass rose, and rhumb lines. Shows the walled cities of Amsterdam, Hoorn, Enckhuysen, and Medenblick. Lovely title cartouche features two cherubs engaged in cartographic activities. Second decorative cartouche with three distance scales. Appearance is much better than condition description indicates.

Lovely impression on thick hand laid paper. Long centerfold split with additional 4" tear, repaired on verso. Section of margin trimmed to within 1/4" of neatline.
