This map of the Black Sea was made by Ortelius on the basis of modern information presented in Mercator's maps of Southeast Europe, as well as classical sources. It is embellished strapwork title and scale cartouches. Published in the 1612 Latin edition.

Wide margins with faint mat burn not affecting map. Recent color with some bleed through on verso. Remnants of hinge tape on verso.
