317. Australia (Part of
South Australia), Tallis, London, ca. 1850. 9.5 x 13". (OC) Lovely map surrounded by
a delicately engraved border and including steel engraved vignettes of Adelaide, Natives
on a Catamaran, Dingo, or Australian Dog, Nymphicus, and the Seal of South Australia. The
map covers the region of Spencer Gulf to Encounter Bay and includes Kangaroo Island.
Several mining districts are noted. Minor tear in margin, else very fine, with good
margins. (A) $150-180

Partie Du Monde), H. Langlois, Paris, ca. 1830. 18.5 x 10". (BW) Nice map of the
South Pacific with South East Asia, Australia and Polynesia. Uncolored except for hand
colored lines separating the regions. Good detail of even tiny islands, but little on the
large land masses. Toned on fold. (B) $40-50

Pacific with islands clearly shown. Includes Hawaii, New Guinea, eastern Australia and New
Zealand. Inset of Sandwich Islands and a table listing the island groups in
