338. Oceania - Easter Island (Plan de la Baie de Cook (and) Plan de LIle de Paque), La Perouse, Paris, [1797]. 19.7 x 27". (BW) Two charts on one sheet. The map of Easter Island incorporates 4 approach views of the island. The plan of Cooks Bay locates a plantation, banana farm, caves , and appears to locate several of the monuments as well. Folded, as issued. Very light foxing and minor offsetting. (A) $70339. Oceania (A Chart of Polynesia or Groups of Islands Spread over the North & South Pacific Oceans), W.H., Lizars, A. Constable (pub), Edinburgh, 1822. 15.2 x 8.2". (BW) Very detailed, steel engraved map of the Pacific depicting Cooks voyages. Hundreds of islands located. Scattered foxing. (C) $45

(OC) Interesting projection covering the entire ocean, island groups, and the coastlines of surrounding continents. Alaska is Russian America. (OC) Australia has a virtually blank interior with only a little topographic detail in New South Wales. NSW includes the entire east coast. The West coast is named "New Holland." Good detail of the Solomon and New Hebride Islands. Crisp impression. (A) $100
